  • In the scope of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requiring countries and airports to provide electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD), the Administration de la navigation aérienne has been tasked by the Government to take the steps necessary to comply with this requirement. This Digital Terrain Model (DTM) is the result of a first LIDAR survey flight that has been done in October 2017 and is of a higher resolution than required by ICAO, thus for general purpose, harmonized according to INSPIRE requirements. For this reason this DTM also uses the national reference systems LUREF and NGL. The data itself is split up in 4 different areas, which are specified as follows: Area 1: The entire territory of Luxembourg; Area 2: Terminal Control Area (this area is larger than the territory of Luxembourg); Area 3: Aerodrome movement area; Area 4: Category II or III operations (Runway 24).

  • This dataset was reported by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg under the EU Floods Directive. The Floods Directive indicates that Member States may make use of the administrative arrangements made under Article 3 of the Water Framework Directive. However, different competent authorities may be appointed by Member States for the Floods Directive. The Floods Directive also allows Member States to identify different units of management from the river basin districts used for the Water Framework Directive. Member States shall (Article 3 of the Floods Directive): (a) appoint competent authorities different from those identified pursuant to Article 3(2) of Directive 2000/60/EC; (b) identify certain coastal areas or individual river basins and assign them to a unit of management different from those assigned pursuant to Article 3(1) of Directive 2000/60/EC. In these cases, Member States shall, by 26 May 2010, communicate to the Commission the information referred to in Annex I to Directive 2000/60/EC.   • The hydromorphological status was determined by a monitoring compliant with the Water Framework Directive (Directive 2000/60/EU). The elaboration of a structural quality mapping is one part of this monitoring. Within the scope of the work on the structural quality mapping, a total of 31 parameters in the area of the river bed, the river bank and the floodplain are assessed so that the structural quality mapping contains detailed information on the river morphology and the river continuity. In this case, the evaluation of the mapped sections is based on five classes. The results of the evaluation were aggregated into an overall evaluation per mapped section.
