  • The Web Map Services (WMS) view service, giving view access to all harmonised datasets of the Luxembourg public administrations that are within scope of the INSPIRE Building theme.

  • The predefined dataset download links to all harmonised datasets of the Luxembourg public administrations that are within scope of the INSPIRE Buildings theme.

  • This dataset contains the buildings in 3D on the national territory of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The 3D buildings were made based on the aerial shots of summer 2020 (flight period: end of July, beginning of August and mid-September 2020; flight height: +/- 3500 m above the ground) by photogrammetric rendering of the roofs (QME in x, y and z ≤ 20 cm), followed by downward extrusion and texturing of the resulting 3D models of the buildings with the oblique shots. Only the roofs of buildings with a footprint greater than 20 m2 were entered, taking into account superstructures (e.g. dog-sitting) whose longest side exceeds 50 cm and which have a volume greater than 1 m3. The 3D buildings correspond to the LOD (Level of Detail) 2.2 classification. This dataset has been harmonized according to the INSPIRE theme "Buildings" data specification.

  • The buildings are derived from data from the topographic database (BD-TOPO-L) of the Cadastre and Topography Administration, based on 2013 aerial imagery. Data of type LOD 1 (Level of detail 1) represents simple blocks without details on roofs. The height of the blocks is defined by the average height of the outer perimeter of the roofs from photogrammetric measurements (i.e. the extraction of horizontal (X, Y) and vertical (Z) information based on aerial images) . The survey of these roof perimeters is part of the 2013 topographic survey for the updating of the topography database (BD-TOPO-L). The origin of these data restricts the resolution of units at building block level, smaller units such as annexes or remarkable building parts (e.g. church towers) are indistinguishable. The data is available as CityGML files, a standard format for exchanging 3D data. Buildings can be downloaded as ZIP files by municipality (+/- 10 MB / MB per file), by canton (+/- 40 MB / MB per file) or for the whole country (+/- 600 MB / MB). The data are projected in LUREF (EPSG: 2169), ie a coordinate reference system using values in meters [m]. Data not transformed into INSPIRE data model

  • Buildings from the official carto-/topographic database (BD-L-TC). The BD-L-TC is a vector dataset at the scale 1:5000 which represents the earth surface's objects on the national territory, with attributes in german, french and english. This dataset has been harmonized according to the INSPIRE theme "Buildings" data specification.

  • Buildings of the cadastral map PCN. This dataset has been harmonized according to the INSPIRE theme "Buildings" data specification.

  • BD-L-TC - public buildings from the official carto-/topographic database. The BD-L-TC is a vector dataset at the scale 1:5000 which represents the earth surface's objects on the national territory, with attributes in german, french and english. Data transformed into INSPIRE data model

  • The buildings are modeled on the basis of a photogrammetric exploitation of the aerial images of 2017. The definition of the LOD 2.3 used includes a detailed modeling of the shape of the roofs (without details like skylights, chimneys, antennas, solar panels, ...) with a vertical projection to the ground. These data can be consulted in the 3D web viewer of geoportail.lu. This type of building modeling is not yet available for the entire country. As part of the LiDAR pilot project in 2017, this building modeling was carried out over an area of 3 km2 (2 km2 in Diekirch and 1 km2 in Bastendorf). The origin of these data restricts the separation of units at the building block level. The exploitation of aerial images for the modeling of 3D surfaces does not allow a distinction of units by cadastral parcels. (Eg terraced houses) The data is available as CityGML files https://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/citygml, a standard format for exchanging 3D data. Data not transformed into INSPIRE data model

  • Industrial buildings harmonized according to INSPIRE and comming from the official carto-/topographic database (BD-L-TC). The BD-L-TC is a vector dataset at the scale 1:5000 which represents the earth surface's objects on the national territory, with attributes in german, french and english. The buildings are hereby represented as point geometry only. To obtain polygon geometries, refer the the Building INSPIRE theme.
